Owner & Songwriter – Sunette Bridges

“Music is the wine that fills the cup of silence.” — Robert Fripp

Born in South Africa on June 4, 1970, her life in Music began as a toddler, falling asleep on a blanket under a banquet table while her dad, Bles Bridges, was on stage, singing at parties, dances and weddings as vocalist and lead guitarist in a band. Later came piano lessons and classical ballet, until, in 1985, her dad was signed to record a solo album by EMI Records and he needed new material. One album became 27 and, in what is still a record setting recording career in South Africa, Sunette wrote the lyrics to countless of his hit songs from the age of 15, until he passed away in 2 000, when she was 29 years old.

At the age of 30 she recorded the first of 7 solo albums on which she wrote the lyrics to 42 of the songs. During this time, she also wrote lyrics on 3 of the albums recorded by award winning artist Manie Jackson and 3 songs for Jannie Moolman, famous South African tenor.

In 2010 she received an award from the ATKV for her contribution to the Afrikaans Language, which is her native tongue and in 2011 she received an award for her Live Show, “Let the Music Play” for Best Stage Production at a Music Festival.

She immigrated to the USA in 2015 with her husband, Chris Roets, and their 5 Children, Ashleigh, Carissa, Dewan, Lawrence and Wium and settled in the picturesque Silk Hope, North Carolina, where she is finally living her dream as proud owner of Rivers & Bridges Music Studio where, she is writing and creating beautiful music.
